The new generations will be expected to respond to the needs of Industry 4.0. They will need to be confident with technology and be continuously learning and self-improving individuals.
With the introduction of the concept of Industry 4.0, many institutions from all over the world have started to comply with the requirements of Education 4.0. The term Education 4.0 is a way to mirror the Industry 4 in education.
The advancement of technologies keeps changing and transforming the teaching method and the setting of the learning process. There will be more changes in the future. Some of the expected changes that institutions embrace include using collaborative software/application to complete group tasks. Students complete their assignments online and upload them in an online class portal or the institution learning management system. Students and teachers are dependent on internet and cloud storage and use of social media platforms.
Education 4.0
Education 4.0 include a flexible global education model. Teachers can use online data to track and measure their students’ results and then provide personalised guidance based on their specific strengths and weaknesses. With Education 4.0, the concept of education changes completely, and some new trends appear that is not familiar. The new education system, built on success in life and not on exams, draws attention to the necessity of personalised education.
The development of Education 4 got extra speed through the pandemic school lockdown in 2020 and 2021. A good alternative for classroom education has been using digital tools in home education. Through home education using digital platforms, many have used the positive parts of Education 4.

Empowering the Education 4.0 workforce
The World Economic Forum work with its partners to provide better education, skills and jobs. The World Economic There is an unprecedented opportunity to explore actions required to deliver new skills to the workforce, new delivery mechanisms for learning and training, and new learning ecosystems to enable the Reskilling Revolution. The World Economic Forum underline that many of today’s children will work in new job types that do not yet exist, with an increased premium on both digital and social-emotional skills in the coming years. The gap between education and jobs is further widened by limited innovation in learning systems, which were largely designed to mirror factory-style growth models. The Fourth Industrial Revolution has made it imperative that education systems adapt.
The World Economic Forum warned that without action, the next generation would be unprepared for the future’s needs, creating risks for both productivity and social cohesion. There is an opportunity for public and private sector leaders to reset primary and secondary education systems and co-design content and delivery that deliver on children’s needs for the future. Based on the framework developed in Schools of the Future: Defining New Models of Education for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Education 4.0 initiative aims to better prepare the next generation of talent through primary and secondary education transformation. According to the World Economic Forum, the initiative will drive impact through four interconnected interventions:
- Implementing new measurement mechanisms for Education 4.0 skills
- Mainstreaming technology-enhanced Education 4.0 learning experiences
- Empowering the Education 4.0 workforce
- Setting Education 4.0 country-level standards and priorities.
Changes in Education
The changes that take place in Education 4.0 describes the learning preference of the today students. It is about time for class instructors to consider integrating more current technologies in their teaching methodology. The students that they have now had a different preference than students that they had ten years ago. Integrating more current technologies will make the instructors more creative in designing their lessons, thus making the learning more enjoyable. Education can also be more effective, and it is possible to be supported by social platforms.[3]
